With over 17 years of experience in databases and a current Microsoft MVP, Ike Ellis is recognized as one of the best and brightest independent SQL Server experts. Ike is an exceptional community leader who shares his extensive technical expertise with prominent businesses, learners, and user groups. He provides indispensable feedback to Microsoft as a member of SAGO (Microsoft's group of SQL Azure Experts). Ike has been Microsoft certified since the beginning, currently holding an MCDBA, MCSE, MCSD, and MCT. He is a popular lecturer and consultant known for his reliability, industry credibility, and communication skills. In 2000, he created his own consulting business, EllisTeam, based on the belief that business owners not only want the best but a resource who actually cares about their business. Ike is a SQL Instructor for DevelopMentor. Ike is a steady supporter and contributor to his local technology communities: In 2010, Ike founded the San Diego Tech Immersion Group (SDTIG). It has grown to be the largest user group in San Diego with over 100 active members including three other Microsoft MVPs. It is a technical book club that reads a book on a significant technical topic such as C#, WPF, TSQL and brings in lecturers that are experts on that subject. Ike teaches free programming classes for DigiGirlz, a project encouraging teenage girls to pursue a career in IT. He is a director for the San Diego .Net Developer Group which has 40 to 50 participants. He is on a steering committee for a San Diego .Net User group. Ike regularly speaks at Code Camps and SQL Saturdays on topics like SQL Azure, SQL server, and Business Intelligence. Ike is at heart a Boy Scout who has been a scoutmaster for his sons’ troops. He shares with all three of his sons a love of golf and surfing. He is an avid runner, hiker, camper and backpacker.
