David Powers

Bio

David Powers is the author of many books and video training courses, focusing primarily on web development and PHP. He began developing websites in 1994, and has been working with PHP since around 2000. David is a passionate advocate of web standards. As well as writing books and recording video training courses, he has taught web development for a commercial training company and at two universities in the UK. Prior to embarking on his web development career, David was a BBC radio and TV journalist for many years. He spent nine years broadcasting from Japan, contributing not only to the BBC, but also to radio stations in North America, Australia, and Taiwan. Although he specializes in PHP, he does have a Python connection: he was Michael Palin's guide to Tokyo in Around the World in 80 Days.
