Bio

Dave Young is an electrical engineer with over 10 years of professional design experience. He developed these skills while attaining his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and while working for companies such as Keithley Instruments and Ultra Electronics. He has a broad range of electronics experience with analog, digital, wireless, and embedded designs; however he specializes in analog electronics for efficient and versatile power systems, precision sensing solutions, and user interfaces.

Dave thrives on bringing new ideas into reality, which has resulted in over 6 years of success with his consulting company, Young Circuit Designs (YCD). YCD works with small companies and research labs to create custom electronics that meet a specific application, be it for prototypes or full production. Past clients such as Sensera Systems (wireless solar sensors), Mezmeriz (portable MEMs displays), and HabitatMap (open-source air quality measurement) have benefitted from his on time delivery of complete designs and his nimble approach to development which accommodates unexpected changes.

Dave serves his love of education as Founder and CTO of BlueStamp Engineering (BSE), a summer engineering enrichment program for high school students. The BSE curriculum allows students in locations all over the country to complete engineering projects of their choice in the same vein that Dave does for his clients.

Dave further involves himself in education by holding an Adjunct Faculty appointment with the Colorado School of Mines teaching their Senior Design course.
