Inaugural O'Reilly Strata Rx Conference Announces Program--Exploring the Power of Big Data to Transform Healthcare at Strata Rx

August 20, 2012

Sebastopol, CA, August 20, 2012—The potential of data to transform and drive innovation is nowhere more timely or crucial than in healthcare. The first O'Reilly Strata Rx Conference, taking place October 16-17 2012 in San Francisco, CA, will bring together experts and innovators from data science and healthcare, crossing traditional industry boundaries and uncovering insights on the emerging big data and analytic approaches that could solve some of healthcare's biggest challenges.

"Our healthcare system is full of problems, and there is no magic bullet," said conference chair Julie Steele. "But data science can help us address some significant challenges, and bring us closer to the goal of providing personalized, affordable medical care." To that end, the Strata RX program features discussions on both theoretical and practical applications of data science in healthcare transformation, geared toward an audience ranging from practitioner to activist to consumer.

Registration has now opened for Strata Rx Conference, and conference chairs Colin Hill and Julie Steele have announced the program. Featured speakers include:
